Default Bravo X question....

First of all I'm a newby to the I/O crew. Been on SnF for the past couple of years with a Mirage and getting into a new territory here. 496 w/ a bravo x... I shut the engine off while in forward.....and now it will not come out of forward.....(yes alcohol was involved) and I was told after the fact that you don't do this to a bravo unit. Is there someway to reset this thing? or do I need to get it straight to the nearest mechanic?

Thanks,

Hook a flushing attachment to it,
turn on the water.
bypass the neutral safety switch at the shifter,
or jump across the slave solenoid with the ignition switch
in the on position.

Make shure everything is clear of the prop
and start it up.

Once running, you should be able to get it
out of gear.

You can have someone bump the solenoid while lightly pull it ouy of gear as well.

I've never had one stuck in gear so bad that I couldn't pull it out of gear at the shifter. Have somebody turn the prop by hand slowly and try pulling it into nuetral.

A Lil bit of Jack, some Yeager, Pineapple soaked in rum, and a couple of beers.

Thanks fellas, I'll give it a shot. We'll see what happens!

Well tried all the above tricks and nothing so off to the mechanic it went. Final verdict was a broken lower shift cable.
