what is a safe cruising rpm for a 1989 350 magnum the wot operating range is 4200-4600 thanx Chris

to be 100% "safe".......0 rpm's . The best mix of speed and effeciency would be 3,200-3,300 in most boats.

I always ran about 35-3600rpm with no trouble

3250 should provide the best economy, "keeping you out of the 4 barrels" as my brother in law would say. (if equipped). My throttles have a notch that keeps them RIGHT at 3225-3250, according to my tachs anyway.
