Default Anyone Familiar With Buderus Boilers For Sno Melt System

Have a Buderus G-22 boiler to run the SNO melt system under the driveway, i tested it this morning for the coming chit weather and it kicks on runs for 5 mins kicks the reset button any ideas ?last guy i called out 2 years ago charged 2800.00 with the service call and i can buy a new boiler for 2400.00

If so it looks like a sepperate heating unit....is there an external pump to move the fluids through the system? is it kicking on? it maybe that the unit is heating up the fluids and turning off when they get too hot...normal opperation i would guess...but if the pump is not actually moving the fluids then it wont kick back on till it cools down again....

Yes that is the unit,and there are red pumps attached to the lines headed out under the driveway & sidewalks,i will go and fire it up and see if i hear or feel the pumps on and will see how how the temp gets on the boiler .i have 4 of these boilers for thedriveway, heated floors and the indoor pool but only this one is givin me chit

Red pumps eh? sounds like they are Bell&Gossett pumps...

Well i was color blind on the pumps and there green and say TACO the red was the tanks,i reset it and it kicks off at 130 degrees and cant really tell if the pumps are moving water ,the copper pipes are hot leading all the way to the foundation where they change to clear plastic/poly there is a motor on the 8"vent pipe to get it outside can this have anything to do with it? sounds like the pump is'nt moving the water and will have to call Porter pipe in the morn

The motor on the vent pipe will be a power exhaust for the boiler....that usually starts up just before the boiler kicks on the flames...so you should be able to hear that turn on no problem....

Wally thnx i just went up on the friggin cedar shake roof in the rain and checked the vent and the motor is running and is free from any bird nest and not clogged , is there a limit chip possibly? i have a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend who says he can fix this thing in 30 mins except he was suppose to be here at 10.00 and its 11.30 and his wife told me he's still sleepin. looks like ill have to get a porter pipe service guy out here
