i had DPX on a Hustler 388 with 600s.

The drives make the boat about 4mls slower than with Bravos. Accelaration is very good. Difficult to get parts now.

Make sure that the props fit the boat, because there is almost no choice.

The loss of speed tends to set in in the 70+ mph range and higher. The increased prop blade area (and therefore lower prop slip rate) actually makes them more efficient at cruise speeds. I've run a set behind a pair of 600's in a 12,000 lb Formula for seven seasons and over 330 hours before I experienced a pitted pinion gear.

If top speed is the ONLY thing that matters, they may not be a good choice for you. I'm into reliability, and would classify them as way, way better than Bravos. Parts will be available for quite some time through Volvo, but you shouldn't need any.

The engines in that boat you're looking at were built by Innovation Marine in Sarasota, and are very, very nice. Close-cooled, injected, and full of good parts. You can call them regarding any recommended service intervals.

Bottom line - It will be a very reliable boat.
