Default How are dual sets of throttles rigged?

A number of offshore boats are rigged with two sets of throttle controls for the versatility of switching between one man operation to separate driver and throttleman configuration. I've always been curious how this is rigged. Is there a type of junction box that you have to manually swop cables in?

This isn't all that hard to rig. In Control http://www.incontrolequipment.com/default.htm makes most of the components you will need. We're rigging and old raceboat with this config now. It works the same as a foot throttle arrangement.

You don't have to do push-pull although that would work too. This arrangement allows for a "Slave and Master". Better when the driver might want to take controll for him/herself.

An easy approach we use are just two sets of Morse cables. Just clip on and off at the carb. One set as normal w/shifters at the helm and a separate throttle only set if you want a throttleman set up. Open hatch and you are switched in less than 1 minute.

Actually the mercury smart craft is the easiest and push pull you don't have to pop up the hatch.
