Default History of 28 AT

I know you guys were busting on the other 28 AT thread getting hijacked so I thought I would start a new one with some questions I have on the 28 AT. I'm looking for a brief rundown on the history/construction of the boat.

What year did Pat start producing the boat?

Was the boat splashed from another hull or is it an original design?

Have there been any major changes to the boat over the years (i.e. hull bottom, cockpit, cabin, construction materials, etc.) and if so what were the changes and what years did the changes encompass?

Is the cockpit a fiberglass liner or is it plywood with Lon-Seal glued to it?

Is the cabin a fiberglass liner or is it stick built?

What are the performance numbers from the most popular powerplants in the boats (i.e. 502MAG, 500 EFI, 496MAG HO, 525EFI)?

I apologize for all the questions but I've never had the opportunity to view this model AT in person. I've only ever seen a late 90's 32 AT up close.

Thanks.

Not sure exactly what year was first 97/98. I had a 99 and it was a completely (sorta) different than my 06. With that said the newer ones are short 32s and the first ones were a different hull they have more rocker in the bottom and the newer I think 04 are stright outa the 32 molds. The liners are glass. The cockpit is glass with a glued in floor covering.(perilli) (i know the spelling is wrong) I did feel a little less headroom in the cabin of the new one and a couple inches less freeboard although Pat always said it was in my head. The dash is also different on the newer ones, the compass is gone off the port side and there is a small glove box and cooler (not the majic one like on the 33). They are a great boat no matter what year and there really isn't anything else out there to compare them to. Now lets see if anyone else has anymore info, I'm sure there will be lots more. I am sure this thread will be hijacked also, ain't it great.

How's the balance with twins? I'm thinking they didn't make many that way? Twins are always a plus in my book as long as it doesn't make the boat too stern heavy.

Shoot a PM to 'boatfreak' aka Mikey here on OSO. His 28 that he sold a few months ago went to Northern Illinois; somewhere on the Chain perhaps?

He should be able to get you in touch with the new owner.
