Default 33 Powerplay speeds with 600hp

Anyone have any experiance with this hull? I know this hull is not the fastest, but what kind of realistic speeds should I expect to see with a solid 600Hp per side in a 94 33 Powerplay sportdeck? Would my expectations be too high if I was thinking mid to high 80s?

Thanks,
Frank

That doesn't sound like a problem. I helped rig a 33 Powerplay a few years ago with twin 502 / 600's and we ran 91 mph on GPS all day long.

I think it was a '96 but the bottom design through that period was the same so unless it was layed up with a different material any 33 from that era should be very similar.

JROMY has a 33' with the Merc 525s and he gets 87, all stock engines and props.

Scott Utah's F2 33 Powerplay with HP500's ran around 83mph. Another couple 100hp should put you at 90+ @ WOT. With today prop technology and if the bottom and drives are really good you should do a little better.

I had a 1997 33' Powerplay race model (3 man bolster) with staggered HP 500's-- she ran around 84mph top speed with 3 blade Mirage's.

I think with 600's you should be in the high 80's- low 90's. I can tell you that it's a BADA$$ hull for sure!

Trust me, it's plenty fast when the water kicks up.

Is there any speed difference between the taller post 95 hulls, vs the lower pre 95 hulls? I'm guessing the pre 95's weight less.

Thanks,
Frank
