Anyone know if 14W X 40L X 12H would be large enough to store a Formula 353 with trailer in?

I think you would come up short in length with the drives on.

My 42 cig and myco trailer fits fine with a 45 foot garage length, so i think youll be fine, depends on your trailer. Pic attached shows how I have very little trailer in front of the boat.

These are from it first going up and a Formula 312 in there. I now have a 382 and it's tight, but it fits. I have also added a bunch of shelves that are accessible while standing in the cockpit, put a A/C unit that blows the air into the cockpit and lighting in the upper corners. I use a 15 ft 2 x 4 to help support the center span of the doors so if it gets windy the doors don't take the brunt of the wind. You MUST put down a plastic barrier on the floor as that's where most of the moisture comes from.

Diddo? How much, expected lifespan, moisture issues, ease of install, can it withstand any snowload? etc.

I have been looking at Pole Barns but this might be an inexpensive alternative to get me by for a couple years.

Look around..these things come with powder coating pipes vs galvanized, 1.98 diameter vs 2.38. Some kits come with anchors and roll up doors others charge addl. for those items. The fabric can be 7.5 oz, 8 oz, 10 oz and occasionally 12oz.....you get what you pay for.


Mine was 10 oz material, 2.38 galvanized pipes with all the anchors, and one roll up door kit included. I added the 2 vent kits when I bought it. I set it up on old railroad ties, poured stone dust inside and covered it with 6 mil plastic to keep the moisture down. I've had 4-5 inches of a snow/ice mix on it and a storm with 60 mph gusts so far without problems. I used to have alot of dust/dirt blow in under the ends but I put decent size stone down in front of each end to stop that. (apparently the wind whips under the doors and picks up dirt then deposits it EVERYWHERE inside the tent). Now the rocks have stopped that from happening.
I found the company on Ebay and they were pretty helpful in determining what I needed. I originally put the upper cross members together wrong and ruined the first cover....they sold me a replacement fairly cheap and I still use the original frame. (top cross members go INSIDE the "A" frames and then cover them with pipe insulation.)

They make a roundhouse version that would probably be better suited for snow loads but it's about 50% more money. Again mine is the 14 x 42 x 15 "A" frame lists for $1,799.00.

Supposedly the material will last 10 years and it took about 24 hours for me to assemble the thing COMPLETELY by myself.

I would like to buy one like that until I build a permenant shop. I would have to worry about Hurricanes down here though, but I guess if I can put it up in 1/2 day, I can take it down faster.
