Default 07 Chevy Trucks w/5.7 Aluminum block

Does anybody have any experience or recommendations regarding this new generation 5.7L variable displacement engine that has an aluminum block? I believe this new motor is referred to as the "M" engine.

Chevy doesen't make a 5.7l anymore. DO you mean the 5.3L? There isn't a great deal of difference compared to the old 5.3. IT still sounds like it will explode when your towing but it gets a little better mileage when empty.

I meant the 5.3L. Its hard to unlearn many years of the old small and big block Chevys. Thanks for catching my mistake!

I have an 07 NBS but it is not alum. I love the truck but I have had a few little problems but dealer fixed them. All but the cloth black seats. They collect lint like a piece of tape. There is a TSB for it but GM has not got a fix for it yet.
