Default Help with trim motors

I need some help. Recently.. my old Formula starboard outdrive trim just stopped working, like if there is no power to it. I checked, power is OK, can it be the switch? some safe guard in the unit? Port is OK. (1985 Merc system.)

THx .. P

When you push the switch do you hear a click back there? You may need a second hand to look for power getting to the relay side of the switch (smaller wires). Do you have a trailer switch? could be a issue with that as well. Does it work in one direction and not the ohter? If so then check the fuse that is ussually located back at the pump.

THanks.

The trailer switch does not work either. No clicks. Fuses are good. I will try to switch the solenoid from the other side.

Thx

Do you have circuit breakers under the rear seat like the 311? That's where my trim power comes from.

Mine did that and it was a solenoid but it would go down but not up.

Sounds like you should change the switch. You might be able to dis-assemble the switch and clean it. They sometimes arc and corrode.

OK. motor is OK. Put direct power to it. Cleaned all terminals, Solenoids. Down stage works, but outdrive not moving. Air? How do I bleed it ?. Need up solenoid for sure.

Change the solonoids. Top off the fluid, I think it will bleed itself.

Did you check the fuse at the pump? There is ussually a small red waterproof fuse holder.
