just bought a Baja 29 Outlaw. Previous boat was a single engine with shift/throttle in one. The Baja has twins and offshore controls. The question is this. The shifters go back to go forward and forward to go back. Is this normal? or can this be set to ones prefrence? It's just that it requires a few more brain cells to operate especially around the docks. Also, how do you remove the rear bench backrest? Someone said it just lifts out, but mine seems to be very tight. I can't find any screws or bolts and don't want to force it un-till I know for sure how to remove it. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Your props are on the wrong drives.
Drive it like a Bobcat when docking, forget about the steering wheel. Set the wheel so the drives are straight, and use the SHIFTERS to move the boat around. There are lots of posts with tips on this. Do a search.
