Default Anyone have a GMC with a 6.5 Liter Diesel?

I'm looking at a 2000 GMC 3500 Crew Cab 4x4 duelly, with the 6.5 liter diesel, Any one have one? What can I expect for fuel mileage? How is the noise compared to a newer Duramax. And how do they compair to a newer Duramax.

Thanks

Had one, have a friend that works on a fleet of them.

Pretty reliable, easy to fix, and get decent fuel mileage. However, the few problems do get costly (injector pump, ect).

They sound like they are going to fall apart all the time. Comparing them to the duramax is like comparing a merc 4.3 v6 to a 525. 6.5's had NO power, but did get ok fuel mileage.

A crew cab is the four door right?

I have an extended cab 3500 with the 6.5/auto/4x4 I'd let go cheap. Going to diesel excursion. Probably got $2k in new parts the last two months (steering, brakes, rims, etc.)

PM me if you are interested.
