Who changes there driveshaft bellows every 2 years? Alot of people say to do it because your boat could sink, mine look to be in great shape on a 7 year old Formula. What do you guys do?????

I inspect mine every year and make a decision based on their condition, but yea 7 years is quite a while.

Yup,.... after seven years I'd be thinkin about it .... Cheap insurance,,,,, and while your in there, change your gimble bearing ..... Shift cable bellows can sink your boat to ..... I'd change that after seven years as well ............

what is the difficulty level of changing these?
My boat was sat in storage for 2 years, it is now 8 years old.
what tools if any are needed.
I do plan on pulling the drives this spring for maintenance anyway

It's a simple job really, depending on your skill level ofcourse ........ Not sure what equipment we're talkin about, but not difficult on a bravo1 drive ........ in any case, if your going to have the drives off anyway, you've got a good start ........... Only special tool I can think of, is the spline drive for the helmet pivot pins .......... I also had to modify a wrench for the lower shift cable nut ....... have fun, it's not that bad if you have a little time to kill ......

I just had mine done. I am quite sure mine hadn't been changed in at least that long. I noticed some wear and general cracking and figured I would be proactive before I had much bigger problems.

Difficulty level depends on how big your hands are

I am a good "wrench" however was told the tools needed where $500.00 I guess the pins are tough to get out.????????

How much does it cost to replace the bellows. Parts + labor

one quote I got was $1000.0 for the pair however that was before I knew about the shift cable, that I understand you have to change the whole cable? they dont just make the boot.
