Default make my trim tabs longer

i have 2piston bennet trim tabs 12 ins long i like to make 20 ins.? would that be all rigth ? did any buddy do this?

Probably not. Making them significantly longer greatly increases the amount of leverage they're capable of exerting. This means significantly increased pressures on the hinges, mounts and actuators.

There is a company that makes new tab plates for the Bennett's in longer sizes. I think they are about $400 for a set... from memory I think they are called 'victory tabs'

The problem with excess force isn't necessarily true, not to mention the bennett rams are used in very large boats with no problems so I highly doubt you'll have a problem there... the biggest thing to understand is you will be asking more from your tabs if you go to the extreme down position so just be careful.

looks like they aren't filling orders though... maybe someone else makes them too.

Martiniboat used to be a member here.
Brian Kamrath.
He died over a year ago.
Very sad.

I think at first someone (a brother??) was going to take over the business, but I don't think it is operating anymore.
