At first I did not think much about it seeing as I was only racing class 6, but for 08 I’ll be running class 3 and my current policy states I’m not covered during any organized professional racing event. Not a big deal racing MX because I’m an old Vet races, nothing pro at that level but they seem to classify OPA as Professional sport so if god forbid I’m killed my wife and kids get nothing but my body…

Do you most guys carry a secondary policy just for racing?

I have a Mill. for 14 hundred a year on life ins. I claimed offshore racing and made sure it was in the policy what I do. I thought it was fair and didnt shop it. I am 46 years old, in fair shape and a non smoker. I have 2 kids 6 and 3 and felt it was important .

I think in fair shape is an understatement.

Thanks everyone for the help. I have spoke to a few agents that handle policys for "racers" and they seem to be asking the right questions, like
-what kind of boat
-boats tops speed in class
-engines and HP.
-Onboard air supply

Thanks Again !

I got a policy before i hopped in a boat. Universal with scheduled optional step ups in coverage up to 5X original value at a set premium and minimum interest rate with option to cash out or borrow from it.

edit: i also have an additional 20year term assuming if i ever start a business then die the insurance policy will cover all depts and is tax free inheritance.
