Fox Waterway Meeting Thursday!!
#1
This Thursday, Feb 14th at 6:00 PM is the next meeting regarding noise and speed limits on the Chain.
Several of us unfortunately cannot attend, but anyone that can talk their significant other into it should (it Valentines Day for those who forgot). A strong showing will keep this issue out of the rule book!!!
Please try to make it. The location is in Fox Lake this time:
45 S. Pistakee Lake Rd.
Fox Lake, Illinois 60020
Thanks,
Kirk

This "speed issue" was brought up in the name of safety. Seems to me that the winter months are a lot more dangerous on the chain with all the snowmobile accidents and deaths. Nobody says a word about that. A lot of sleds have loud pipes as well. Maybe because the snowmobiles do not go past the certain board members house as the river rarely freezes by him. I am not saying we should regulate sleds, just stating that some peolpe have hidden adgendas getting rid of boats they do not like in the name of safety.

There were about 50-60 or so boaters ready to hash it out....
And only about 4-5 crybabies talking about boats racing around and dishes in the china cabinet rattling.
One lady said she can't talk to another person next to her on her deck when someone goes by....been that way for 50 years now.
One guy wanted no wake on the entire river...yeah OK.
Another talked about the impact on the water fowl...which just get shot at the end of the season for good eatin.
We need to show our force in numbers when they vote on noise or speed limits not to mention board re-election.
