I was just thumbing through the powerboat mag, and seen the ad, for the shootout at its new location. What does everyone think of it no longer being at shooters anymore? Will anyone not go just because it is the first year at a new spot? I hope that there is still the poker run the friday before. The shootout really brings some awesome boats to loto, the dates are Aug 23-24.

It should be pretty cool, I'm glad it's still gonna be held at the Lake....Shooter's is pretty much a pile of dirt right now...

Shooters did have one of the best locations on the lake but no one even went there except for during the Shootout....

We only stopped there once last year for a Poker Run and the service was mediocre at best and the food was nothing to write home about.

It's really sad how it went down hill year after year...but out with the old and in with the new. Captain Ron's should be a pretty nice place from everything that I heard..

I don't think the new location will have any negative affects on attendance at all. Might even bring in some more people from farther up the lake.

As far as Shooters, it was barely open last year except for the Shootout.

The Shootout will be cool and the Poker run is going to be Bigger and better then ever with this being brought to a New Level this year. Information Soon to come!

which poker run are you involved with. I know last year there we at least three. why don't they just have 1 big run there.

It's a shame how bad shooters was the last few years. I used to really like the place years ago. I don't think the new location will be a problem, as long as it all works out this year. If there are problems it will probably be the begining of the end.

I am hoping to see some higher speeds because the water should be calmer in the 32-35 mile marker area. Also Shooters was way past its day. It was just a convenient spot because of its location. I have no problem going an extra 10-12 miles to get to the shootout. Heck that is why I go to the Ozarks !! So I can run my boat for more than a few miles at a time.
