Anyone had any experience with cutting down the skeg on your lowers?

Picked up 1-1.5 mph. That's running well over 100 mph in a 2000 lb rig and I was trying to squeak out each and every mph. Not worth the effort on anything heavier or slower.

When the XR Sportmaster first came out there were many threads about how they were running 2 - 3 MPH slower than the standard XR lowers. The racers said they were having success cutting the Sportmaster skegs down and getting that speed back.

I've done it and it's easy. All you need is a good solid rock below the surface
Generally I notice significant speed loss until I get the prop fixed
In all seriousness though, you have to be running triple digits and a pretty high X to gain speed by doing this.
