Anybody got old photo's of the Joker when it was being raced by Art Lilly? Or any historical info on it? I've seen it down here in Bermuda and it looks great - I just want to learn a bit of racing history and like to know what 'gems' are hidden down here in Bda. I know somebody bought it after Art raced it, then sold it (maybe twice) then finally made it's way to Bermuda. Any info on motors, speeds, race wins, etc. would be great. And does anybody know the hull year? I've read 1989 but have seen race results from before that if my memory serves me right! Thx in advance...

I saw the boat back in the mid 90's on the Chesapeake and it was in great shape. We had done some minor service work on it waterpumps etc.... If I recall it had stock merc 200 carbs on it and huge tabs! We ran the boat briefly and was in the low 80's and had plenty more to go. It was still all red and looked awsome...since then i am not sure of its history...hope this helps...Jake1250

Doppler, Check out this link. There are some pics and info on the boat on the first couple of pages. Contact Mobilemercman on here. He seems to know quite a lot about it! Good Luck.

Doppler,
The Joker set a Kilo in New Orleans in 3/08/'87 at 79.946 MPH.
It was new in '86 Raced ,'87,88. In "89. I re-rigged everything to a new boat and added bulkheads, foamed and glassed the tank in, assembled it in a way it would last. That was Red with silver interior. It was Kareoke Mikes before it went to Bermuda.
Key West '87

S-13 is just starboard of yellow KK ghost

In dry stack between races

The above pic Post 4 in the wet pits is Trumps Atlantic City
It Beat the K&K boat in Bay City.
'89 Lilly raced the Black 10 meter

Great pics! I love the old race pics. Do you have any of the K&K Ghost? I recently went took the last remaining racedeck Ghost 23' out for a run. It's here in Bermuda as well- it was shipped over in the mid 80's and has been here ever since. Looks like we have some great old racers here...

Wow memories.......... about 20 years ago I worked for Art as a rigger .............I was going to buy that boat from Art in the late 80's.
I rememeber going out for a test run with Art on the Severn river hitting 86 mph in that thing..........scared the hell out of me, it would heve been my first performance boat. I wisely opted for something a little tamer.I think I was about 22 at the time.
I ended up buying a new 22 Velocity hull instead and put asingle 200 Merc on. 65 on a good day......it was when Regal just took over.
Totaly different boat.
I remeber the Joker waseventually painted all purple and wrecked by one of his employees during a race. I think the drivers name was Eric.
Check out his site theres some info on the Joker under boat performance and parts on home page
