Mount them where you can access them. Alot of guys tuck them under an engine and then have a hard time cleaning them.

Plan properly and order the right configuration. You can get straight through strainers or inlet/outlet on the same side.

Let us know if we can help.

keep in mind to mount them as low as possible as to help with a natural prime when at rest in the water. mounting them too high has been known to cause water presure issues at start up.
and as stated above for easy access to clean

I know your problem with a 30' Scarab and TRS. There is no room between the front of the engines and the ledge in front of the firewall. Today, I have new sea stainers mounted on the center stringer at the water line....easy access because of the conversion to Bravo drives.
Wellcraft mounted the optional Perko's strainers on the firewall just about the ledge...not pretty but they worked great for 10+ years including the constant in and out of the water due to rack storage.
The center mounted MM units are much cleaner, have easy to remove tops and more bling, but functional there is little difference.

mine are perko's on the firewall, works fine. seems high but that's where scarab put them. pretty tight in there anywhere else i know. i was thinking of mounting mine lower too to make more room in there.
