Default A new 34 ft V bottom for $95K?

After being boatless for a couple of years, my uncle is looking to enter the boating world again. This time he is looking for a new 33-34 ft classic styled V bottom (think Baja Outlaw)with twin 496 Mags. He doesn't want bells/whistles (not even a vhf) and wants to pay no more than $95K. He does want a completely finished boat with a basic cabin and thinks dealing direct with a small builder is the way to go. I think he's nuts but in this economy who knows. Any ideas?

I think cheetah may have one in that range, but you get what you pay for.

I think I agree with your assessment Ben.

Kachina (sp?) boats are not priced real high.
Don't know too many new boats for that cheap though.

I DO know of a 34 Powerquest that is about as new looking as it gets for about that price.

Ignore the price on that site though.

95k for a new 33-34' boat is no way going to happen.

I have a friend that bought a 2006 left over 33 Baja Outlaw with 496HOs, in the early summer of 2007. He still paid $126,000.

I don't think you are going to get that kind of deal for that size boat. If you do, buyer beware.

There are alot of 2-3 year old performance V's available right now which would fit the bill, and still include some warranty. Buyer's market, but for under $100k you're going to have to go used, or move down to a 28-30' single engine.

ditto. Anything you buy new in that size and price range would be a POS.

I cannot think of a boat with twin 496's new in that range. Market maybe be hurting but no one is going to sell the boat for less than it cost to build. He really should look into the used market or adjust his price or size.
