Default 515 C.I. Long block done FINALLY!

Here's a couple of pics of the assy.

Gapping rings with the torque plate on, the rotating assy done and my coated .060 pistons

....And here are the studs and cometics and a shrink ride home!

Hopefully i'll pick up a little with this combo. I'd hate to spend all this money and go slower but that's the way my luck usually runs.
Knowing what I know now I would have done the 540" in a second!

I'm trying Brother! The engine gods are going against me right and left. It's something every time you turn around. I'll be burnt out before I ever get to the damn water.

I'm doing 540's in my new motors and if you are buying a complete rotating assembly you can buy a 540 for about the same price as a 502. There is no replacement for displacement! Cubic inches = Horsepower and Torque.

At first I didn't do it because of the computer/injector upgrade. after I got started on it I did the upgrade to make this one live. So I scrapped a set of pistons which I could have sold the rotating assy and recapped some of my 540 cost. LOng and short is It would have cost no more to do it than I have in this one.
