Default Hitch drop for 2007 Suburban/Yukon

I have a 2007 3/4 ton Suburban and need to get a new class V ball and mount for it and my new boat/trailer. The receiver is pretty high on the new Suburbans/Yukons and it looks like it will need a hefty drop.

For those of you that have those trucks, what drop are you using? Something like 6-8inches?

Check here under products:

No way to know exactly what hitch you need for your setup. You will have to measure it and find out.

You probably wont need any with stock wheels and tires. you will be suprised when you hook it up I think.

I thought for sure I would need some drop on my VMAX but I didnt. Whole rig sits nice-n-level.

I still don't think it will be that much. A 2500 GM truck doesn't need 6-8" of drop. The Suburban won't be any taller. Can't imagine the hitch being that much higher in the frame compared to a truck.

The best way to tell is to level the trailer and measure. Use a bubble level or set the trailer and adjust the tongue jack so the distance between the ground and the trailer frame is the same front & rear. Then measure to the inside of the ball receiver. Add about 2" for tongue weight unless you have auxiliary airbags. If you squat more than 2" you NEED auxiliary airbags.

Check your hitch's capacity. Just because the truck will pull it doesn't mean the people who built it put a hitch on it at that same rated cacacity. I don't know about your specific vehicle but virtually every GM OEM hitch I've ever seen is max 5K lob. capacity. That's not class V.
