My buddy bought one last week and had it on the river Sunday, apparently it is computer detuned for the first ten hours. Good ride and V fast with one hour on the clock, it was only 72 and windy so I declined a drive. Will give it a go next weekend.

Yes, I bought one about 4 weeks ago, still ony have 6 hours on it thought. Need another 4 to get past break-in period. We had an RXP 215hp before and I can tell you the new -X model handles the chop better and handles a little better. I like the taller handlebars since I'm 6'1". The mid range pull is strong!
Can't wait to get to 10hours to experiance the hole shot these things are supposed to have. Top speed is supposed to be about 70 GPS and with a few tweeks will run 75 GPS.

I have driven several of the RXP- X models, they run 67.7- 68.8 on GPS, if you change the intake grate and impeller and remove the OPASS it will run around 74-76 on GPS, it is a great Ski. My Business specialize's in the Sea Doo and Yamaha 4 stroke models, we make them fast, very fast. The name of my business is WMF watercraft.

Got an '04 GTX, per the on-board speedo max I have seen with 200 lb rider and 1/2 tank fuel was 57, 58 mph. Is this about right for the 185 Hp model? I can't remember all the individuals that claim over 60 with this ski. Maybe a 60 lb kid with vapors in the tank. Box Stock!

No your speed is way off, considering the factory speedo is always wrong! You ski should run 61-62 on GPS, what is the engine RPM at WOT?

Looked at one too, but I'm checking out the new Yamaha SHO. More impressed with that one on the surface so far based upon its features, have yet to ride though.

Why would you want an early 90s' Ford Taurus? Just kidding. I sold my favorite ski, a 1996 XP modified pretty well (62-63 mph vs. stock 57-58), after my friends stock Yamaha XL1200 (2001?) ran neck to neck with me. They only get faster and faster. I know the crew at Motul oil, and the wife of one of the co-owners of R&D worked there a while back. She told me her husband had a GP1200 back in about 2000 that went 75+ with about 250 hp (3 cyl 2-stroke).thats crazy...Mike
