Curious as to those that have cockpit layouts that make it mandatory to step on to the sun lounge (most of us) when boarding the boat and what you use to protect it.

Am building a sun lounge for my boat and wondered if anyone had any tricks they used or had designed into their sun lounges??

Had the cockpit seats redone on my old boat and felt like a nag anytime someone new climbed on the boat.
Only thing I came up with on that boat was to have a bunch or rubber backed door mats laying around the boat.
They worked well but lost a bunch of them over the side at dock.
Have seen those with Velcro attachments but anything else??

NO SHOES and put a towel/beach blanket down.

Pick up a yoga mat from Target or Walmart. They work great, clean easy, and usually work pretty well as non-skid.

Ditto. Get a Fat Towel or something similer and lay it across the sunpad every time you stop somewhere.

I don't step on mine if I can keep from it. It pulls the stitching & just isn't good for the material.
If we stop somewhere where we'll be tied up in a way that makes people have to travel from boat to boat, I put my hatch up to keep people off of it.
Use the swim platform to walk on, crawl on the hatch. You don't walk on the furniture in your house, why do it on your boat.

We have a comforter that covers the hatch. Front it tucked under the front to hold it in place. Keeps the hatch cleanand keeps people from slipping on it when crossing over.

yoga mats work great like sydwayz said

Use a great product called a Zoe Deck made by those great people at B.A.I. (my wife). Huge towel that is 5' x 8' that covers the deck and has little optional suction cups to keep it from blowing off if the wind gets bad. We dont have the info on our site yet as we are shooting the product pics this week in Havasu.
We just got our patend on the Katwalkz last week that are towels for closed bow boats that have nonslide matting. The first one was made for a ultra 32' cat, the towel is 5' x 15' pm if you would like more info.

we throw down a towel if people are gonna be coming aboard from the dock; don't much mind if it gets a little dirty.
