That doesn't make a whole lot of sense for some reason.

When running up and down the east coast, Maryland has much higher gas prices than Florida does, but FL's tax is higher? Heck, almost the entire North East seems to have higher gas prices than I get around here (Tallahassee, FL).

Maines tax rate is I think 53 cents a gallon. Not sure how accurate that is. It does seem to me that the Dem. states are higher then the R states... go figure....

I Owened A Gas Station For 4 Years And Was Happy To Make $.10 A Gal. The Gas Tax And Paying Extra To Be A Branded Gas Was A Joke.plus In 2010 All Inground Fiberglass Tanks Have To Come Out And Replaced With Steel Again.go Figure.thank God Thats Gone.

In Florida, the counties add on their own tax also, if they want to. Just across the bridge a half mile from me, that county's tax is 8 cents a gallon cheaper.
