Default K planes on a 233

I ran across a deal on a set of planes, not K planes but a similar Italian product from a company BCS. Anyway, these are 14" x 24". Just curious if anyone has any experience with this size tab on a 24" boat. I'm sure I'll be told they are overkill and will be very sensitive but I've also been told K planes will make a world of difference on an already great hull. So, what do you think, am I crazy?

Can you get parts for them if there is an issue?

We have a 23" and 28" tab kit that is comprable to K Planes in look/durability and are OEM for alot of manufacturers. They are priced right and are made in the USA!!

Let us know if we can help.

The 23" is tapered on both side, the 28" is shaped just like a K Plane.

Thanks, yes I can get parts. This company is big in Europe and has US distributors. Thanks for the information on your product. I really just ran across a deal that I couldn't refuse.

Default not overkill

I had 280-S K-planes on a 22 Scarab that was powered by a 496 MAG HO with ITS and they definitely helped settle the ride in bumpy water. The big block and the setback box gave the boat a bow-high feel and the tabs made it easy to level the ride. I didn't think they were overkill, but you want to make sure that you pick them up before turning on such a small boat.

Hope this helps.

If you mount them closer to the drive(18" if I remember right) it will stop the chime walking problems. Used 2 ram bennetts on a 223

Appreciate the input. I'll post results although I'm not sure when I will install them. My theory is that they will extend the hull length and improve ride in rough water. I run on Lake Huron and it get's pretty nasty. No need for tabs until you start running in 3 footers or better but I think the extended hull length would improve boat attitude. My 233 is twin engine so the install is pretty cramped. I think I need to install indicators too since I can see that too much big tab could affect the handling in turns.
