ScottyB and I need your help in locating records. There is no real clearing house for distance records. Most have been lost for one reason or another (moving, hurricanes etc) . APBA unfortunatly lost a bunch of data.
We are searching for any POINT to POINT (One city or location to another) records currently being held .
ALSO, we would like to know which Point to Point records you guys would like to see created and or set
ANY help locating recorded history of runs will be helpful.
Regard's
Scotty and Marc

Try Miami-NY...but you'll need a bigger boat
Also The Mississippi River record...St Louis-New Orleans...I believe Harold Arneson holds that record.
Chicago-Detroit does Paul Whittier hold that one?....or was it the Nemschoffs?
Key West Havana...might be fun ...until they impound your hull.
Albany-NYC is held by a Chris Cat....
Around Long Island should test you...but watch out for Stu Hayim as I believe he holds it...... and he has a brand new MTI with 1200's to defend it if need be.
San Francisco-Long Beach...Ditto on a bigger boat.
and finally the Grand Daddy of them all, the Blue Riband.... NYC to England... but you'll need a bigger.............
Good luck...........

Don't forget the Tampa-Miami run and the Toledo, Ohio to Buffalo New York runs!
I had the pleasure of being crew chief/navigator on the 46' Cougar "Spirit of America" when we broke/set these records as well as the Miami-Nassau-Miami in the late 1990's. I also had the honor of the recently passed Kevin Brown as a member of our riding crew.
All of our records had been sanctioned by the APBA. The Florida records have since been broken by Nemschoff/Buzzi/Seatecs but Harry, Dave, Eric & I still hold the Lake Erie record.
I should still have my data from these runs in the archives if you need more detail. (charts, waypoints, on-board & aerial footage and ?)
