Default Crane Box Question

Crane HI-6M box and T-Bolt distributor.

I repositioned the rotor to the sensor wheel 35* per the Crane specs. Now the question, when I bring cyl #1 to TDC and drop the distributor in, do I position the shaft/rotor using the original rotor location, or, the "new" 35* rotor location ?

I haven't come across anything in the Crane instructions about this. And I haven't had much luck getting through to the Crane Tech line.

Thanks in advance !

Bill,
Call 717 838 4767 and talk to Glenn, he spent 22 years at Crane and has a ton of experience with the boxes and a direct line to Jerry the main engineer at Crane.

Set the distributor rotor as you would normally do, pointing at #1 with #1 at TDC or whatever you do. Don't compensate for the 35* of the rotor "phasing". The rotor has to point at the appropriate plug wire when that particular pistion is coming up on the firing stroke or the motor can not run, regardless of the rotor "phasing". Also set the timing as you would normally do.

I have the Crane HI-6M's on my modified 500 HPs so call if you have questions.
