Breaking News

AUSTIN --
Early Saturday afternoon a small helicopter crashed into Lake Travis 1/4 a mile from shores near 15 Water Front Avenue in Hudson Bend. The helicopter was carrying two people, a pilot and a cameraman. Both people were rescued from the helicopter and no injuries were reported.

Witnesses say the helicopter was flying really low and skimming the water. The helicopter lost power and flipped over. The passengers swam to the surface and were picked up by boaters.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene including Austin-Travis County EMS, Hudson Bend Fire Department, and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

At least they walked away from the crash! The R 22 does not have alot of room for error.Flying low and fast like that, it is just a matter of time.
