Not sure if this is all true, but it does not sound good, having flashbacks from the gasohol days!

Unfortunately, this is true.

It does react with the older resins. If your boat has resin coated fuel tanks, or fill tubes, you should contact the manufacturer.

Some companies recognized that this was going to be a problem years ago, and changed the resin formula to prevent this problem, like Douglas Marine Skater.
