Default 2008 Annapolis to Baltimore Record Speed Run Next Thursday

Dateline Thursday May 29th 2008: One of the most powerful raceboats in the world the “MISS GEICO” will attempt to break its own Speed record between two historic east coats cities. The Annapolis to Baltimore record attempt will commence Thursday morning at approximately 7:25 am. Born and raised in Rockville, Maryland Driver Marc Granet, along with Throttleman Scotty Begovich (Jupiter , Florida), will hit the water of the Annapolis Basin with their bio-fuelled turbine MTI expecting to best last years 14.07 min run. The Aprox. 26-mile run, projected to pass by in a record-setting 12 minutes, will offer a flash of the green gecko to the United States Naval Academy, then pass under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, continuing on to a spectacular ending at Baltimore's Fort McHenry Monument, all while maintaining an expected speed of 150 mph-190 mph.

Art Lilly and Steve Stanley as well as the Gino in the Coast Guard Dragon will also Run the event.

6:30 Boat in Water

6:30 7:00 Crew /Team Owner Media Interviews and Race Boat preview

7:00 Am Boat Proceeds to milling area.

7:25 Am Commence Record Speed Run

7:45 Am End Run

8:15 Return to Annapolis

Be safe Mark and Scotty,.....that ought to really screw up the traffic going over the Bay Bridge. But at the speed they are running they will be out of sight before they can back too much up.

The current record is 14 minutes and 7 seconds, which they set last year...They are shooting for 12 minutes. It was bad conditions last year. The forecast as of right now looks good.
