Well damnit! I've got an 03.5 Silver SMG for sale. Won't fit any of those needs

Anything particularly wrong with SMG? I haven't driven one myself.

If you ever have a chance you should try it out.

On the BMW forums there's always a debate about whats better. I like not having a clutch pedal myself. The SMG shifts faster than anyone could ever shift with their left foot and right hand.

Not to offend anyone but to me the SMG is like a tiptronic and I just don't want a sports car with a tiptronic. If you are looking for an SMG car; look at jonyb's.

I hear ya' on the tiptronic, basically a push-button automatic. But at least the SMG is more like a "manual" with an automatic option. From a racer's perspective, I like the idea of keeping both hands on the wheel and using the left foot for braking. For a daily driver in traffic, that auto mode sounds good. I'll admit I miss an enthusiastic drive in a stick shift, but the girl in the passenger seat is happy to offer a place to keep my hand busy.
