Default Is relocating the oil filter on a 496 possible?

Just curious if anyone knows if it is possible to relocate the oil filter on a 496, right now mine is bolted to my exhaust and i would like to move it somewhere else, like the transom or something..

Anyone know who makes the hoses for merc?

Check with Teague Marine, they make remote mounts and I think they can set you up with the right hoses.

My dad has a really nice setup on his 288 MCOB. I'll try to take some pics and post them on here. Its a dual system from AMSOIL.

Is there a recommended distance....or even a "too far" it should be? Also height of filter in relation to engine..does it matter?
