I just had a guy drop one off to have the motor pulled. I have never seen this kind of setup before. How does the rear of the motor mount in the early trs's the ears from the gimble plate are not being used.

The trans plugs into the gimbal. There is and expansion ring in the tailstock to hold it in place. Front mount placement is critical.

So does it just slide in or bolt in? It just has regular mounts in the front bravo style not race mounts.

Pull the drive and look into the gimbal. You will see the alignment spring and then the flange that will have a series of 3/8 nuts that expand the expansion ring. loosen them and then pull the front mounts. The engine will have to go forward 4-5 inches to clean the inner transom plate.

Make sure when you re-install the engine and trasn that you check the alignment.
