Default Baja 90 mph club

This was mentioned on another thread so I though it would be interesting to start a thread. If you have a Baja that breaks the 90 mph mark please post on this. A pic of your gps (if possible) model of boat, size of engine and hp,gear ratio/prop you were turning and rpm would be useful too,Smitty
2000 Baja 272
540 cubic inch procharged w/1057 hp/1009ft lb tq pulley on 93 octane
32 pitch labbed merc 4 blade turning a little past 6000 rpm's w 1.50 rato drive
98-99 mph (hand held gps also read 98 on trip recall)

At first glance that gauge makes it look like your well over 100 mph!

When I made that run the boat was climbing out of the water pretty high riding on pretty much just the drive so I had a death grip on the wheel and was just taking quick glances at the fuel and oil pressure. When I stopped and hit the recall I thought it read 109 myself for a few seconds then I looked closer and reality set in,after all I was only turning 3 hundred rpm's or so more than the 95 mph run,Smitty

We got a 2000 Outlaw 33 with twin 540 Bulldogs 500hp... We've got it up to 83mph in some mild choppy water...This winter going to be upgrading the heads on the engines and hoping to be able to be right where you are...We also have the stellings extension boxes on as well but running 29P P5X Hydromotives...

I hope to be in here in a week or two. Hell I'd settle for the 86 I had last year!

I hope to be there in a few weeks as well. We'll see if the new motors have what it takes. If not then bigger superchargers will be on the Xmas list !!!
