How does one remove an island?

Very sad to see the water at such a high stage.

Looks like its deep enough to go there now...the Island had a baby, build on it.

Hope they re-open in time for the Fireworks by the 5th.

How in the hell did that island get into the west docks??? I did'nt think islands float !!!

That "island" is part of a bog that was 1/2 mile north of Blarneys. It is a man made thing designed for wildlife refuge. Because water levels are so high it actually floated away and when they tried to push it back into place it broke into smaller pieces.

I laughed when I read that they tried to "push it" back into place with boats. Wouldn't it have made more sense to pull it?? IMO boats work best when pulling, not pushing.

These are pics from tonight at Ben Watts marina. Most of this area is blacktop, but is now under muddy water. In 20 yrs I have never seen the water this high.

This is famous Freddies lot and a house next door. Kinda wet huh.

THURSDAY UPDATE: Fox Lake has crested and while water levels are slowly going down, we do expect the system to remain CLOSED to boating through the weekend. We will keep this site updated throughout the week and weekend
