Greetings All -

I have been wondering for months & months now - Is it smart to buy a boat now? I mean i know there are so many factors, but with gas showing no signs of going down, the boating industry basically tanking. Its odd because of the current state of things, there are some many good deals to be had but i feel things are only going to get worse with fuel and all the other associated costs that go along with a boat. Just was curious to know everyone's thoughts on this.

I think it is a good time to buy anything that consumes lots of fuel. I basically stole my wifes new Expedition. I am getting ready to take delivery of my "new to me" boat and I couldnt be more excited. Yeah it will cost me to play..... but doesnt every hobby thats fun?

the steal today... will look like over paying in a few months

$5 a gallon at my local marina. I'm not having that much fun out on the water at $5 a Gallon.

My "guess" is the best prices will be this winter. I think changes will be made that will lower the price of gas after the election, but prices won't level off, or start to increase, until after that. A guess though.

Just picked up my Pantera and my new Titan...


The gas isn't too bad just as long as people are willing to chip in to enjoy a day on the lake.

Hell, going to a movie costs $25. My friends are more than willing to throw $40 in the gas tank to cruise the Chicago skyline.

USA canīt alone change the price course of the oil as we speak....

Sorry to be a pessimist but it will rise another 20% the next 6 months...

Regarding the first question..yes itīs a good time If you love boats no matter what.

It's never smart to buy a boat.
It's an addiction, an obsession, a sickness, a disease, a psychological defect, a wanton disregard of fiscal responsibility, a complete squander of resources, an unproductive use of time and energy, an additional source of worry and concern over natural disasters, a poor investment, a social and ecological abuse.

So, what are you looking at?? And how many ponies under the hatch??

I am looking at a 20something that will do at least low 60's for Dad
and wont scare the wife and kids
