What size boat for what truck and still pull out of a state park wet ramp? half ton, three quarter, and one ton. How big of boat are you pulling with a 4x2?

How big or heavy the truck is does not matter. If you've got a wet ramp, you won't pull a jet ski up in the wrong conditions. There are a few people that will tell you they pull an 650 foot freighter up wet ramps all the time with their 1975 Chevy Luv 2WD in OD, but all it takes is one bad ramp for you to have trouble.
Every thread on here that has a theme of "Do I really need 4WD" gets squelched by:
"4x4 is PRICELESS when you a slipping backwards down a ramp with no help in sight."

Althought I have never used it - I wouldn't have dared bought a truck without it. It is VERY comforting.

It's like sydwayz said - as soon as they slip you are probably in more trouble than you want to be in.
Plus it gives you the confidence to know you can launch anywhere not just some ramp that you know locally that isn't a problem.

Very true. I've used this ramp in Miami a couple times. The ramp is so steep, those little holes at the top holding water are from trailers bottoming out. That was a fun day. Ever back a boat into the water at 30mph at a 45 degree angle?

I was looking for one but they are hard to come by here. Ended up with a 4x4 like the rest... I really wanted a dually 2x4 for my 12K rig as I have NEVER used 4x4 to date to get my boat out of the water.

28ft boat at approx 6000-6500
Never have had a issue ANYWHERE that has a hard surfaced ramp and that includes Jamestowns ramp at Lake Cummberland when wet.
Having correct tongue weight is key with todays limited slip rears.
