Default 288 - how fast have they gone, and how heavy?

i've loved the 288's, they look like a hull that would really fly with some big power.
so i was wondering has any buddy weighed their boats, and how fast has a 288 been with how much power?

A late model 288 with a 496HO will run 70 - 72 . With a Raylar or Whipple pumpin up the HP to 525+ will get you about 80 +/- . From memory I think they way about 5600 pounds.

The best so far with a stock Bravo 30 and 2 POB & a half tank was 81 GPS. It should be running 82 -83 with the right prop. I just havent gotten around to testing yet.

I have two friends that have 288's, boat boat on the Potomac River. One has a N/A 572, the other has a Pro Charged 500 EFI, both run in the 81-83 mph range. The one that has the procharged one is on OSO as Jimmies 288.
