Default Propping a 26ZX

We are in the process of dialing in the 26ZX. I am running a Young Performance 850 hp engine with a XR upper, IMCO lower and Billet Topcap. I am running a stock X dimension

We have tried two props. A 30" Bravo I and 32" Bravo I. The 32 really seems to bite better and have a bit less slip. We have not dialed it in all the way yet so I don't know what it will do up top. Eddie had it running 87 at 5,000 rpm before hitting a series of nasty cross wakes which induced a nasty chine walk. His lake was rough so he called it a day. The boat ran on rails before the cross wakes so it seems very stable. I have done numerous runs to 80 with a 30" Bravo I and one to 85 and it is very stable there too.

I was wondering if I should be considering a 5 blade as part of my testing. My biggest concern is stress on the drive.

That would probably be a very good idea before 5 blades.

I was kind of hoping that you would only smoke one drive before you go to #6's and I could buy your other one as a spare.

I talked to Eddie last night.

That is crazy about the 30 Bravo being cut down. No surprise. I was getting ready to try Brian's 30 Bravo for comparison but the rain ran us off Nickajack late Saturday afternoon.

Talking

I've got a 16'" Enkie boat prop wheel that would be perfect! I'll trade for your Dana's.

At under 12% slip with a 4 blade on that hull you are doing well.

If speed is of the essence, keep the 32 B1 and have a conservative Lab done to it.

The 5 blade will slow down the op end but improve economy and cruise speed.
