Default Rev limitors on 575 sci's

Is it bad for the motors if at WOT (5300rpm) the limitors trigger? I was trying to trim the boat to get maximum performance. What are the short/long term effects to the motors?

Thanks for your help.

Once you hit the limiter you've hit the wall anyway.

The governor has kicked in.....you're not going
to go any faster.
