26 eliminator with 525efi, standoff, xr sportmaster, and 30p labbed B1 prop. Max rpm of 4800-4900. Does this sound about right rpm wise with this setup or should I look at going down in pitch to bring up rpm?

I believe that the rev limiter on 525 is 5350. You should be spinning a bit higher.

Would over pitched prop make that much difference? or should I be looking for other causes for lower rpm?

Every inch of pitch = about 200 rpm.

Its OK, Higher is better. At limiter is best.

There are many things that will effect rpms. Knowing the history is important. Did it always turn that? Have you changed things? How many people do you carry? Is the motor running perfectly?

I just bought the boat 2 weeks ago....the owner said thats where it maxes out. Im just curious if that was inline with what most others see with this setup. Engine has 60 hours on it.....seems to run fine to the untrained eye (ie...starts and idles great). Turns 4800 loaded with 5 adults or just me by myself......only difference is time to plane....

I'd knock it down to a 28" and see where that runs. Those rpm's are a little on the low side. That wheel might be the ticket in the winter time on a light load. What GPS confirmed speeds are you seeing at that rpm?

Drop the pitch and you will see better bottom end and mid range punch...also spinning the motor in the 5300 rpm range will give you better top end. Room there for a labbed 28. So all in all you cant loose.

A 28 Lab should help everywhere across the board minus cruise speeds per rpm and a little on fuel economy. The 30 should have raised the rpm a little with loosing 4 bodies in the boat.

Ive seen 89 once......usually around 85.
