Default tiller arm question

I am in the process of installing a new larger oil cooler. It is going behind the engine. It fits well but the tiller arm comes in contact with it. I would like to cut it off for clearance. I have full hydraulic steering so the tiller arm is not being used. Any thoughts on if this is a bad idea?

Thanks

As long as you have full hydraulic steering it will not matter at all. You can't remove it though because it mounts on the swivel pin for the gimbal ring and the nut would not tighten without it. You could make a spacer to replace it but you are best off just cutting off what you need to for clearance. Make sure it is clear throughout it's range of motion too.
