Wheres the best place to order one or does someone have one they dont need. I'm changing the water pump and want to change the tensioner pulley and belt. I hope the squealing I have been hearing is from the pulley. '02 496ho. Thanks. JC

Just replaced the sea pump on one of my '02 496HO's. The bearing on the pulley shaft failed and the pulley/shaft fell out into the bilge. I heard a slight squeeling before all the bells and whistles started going off. Just thought you might want to check that.....

My belt fell off when the sea pump bearing went. The pulley could move in and out about an inch.

Thanks guys, I thought the squealing was coming from the other side and has been there quite a while. I know I'm an idiot for driving with the pump leaking, but hey it still works and I'm on a small lake and can get towed. I have pulled on the pump pulley and dont see any play. I'm hoping it is the tensioner and not the alternator thats making the noise.

Looks like 2 idler pulleys? In the diagram at Bam. Hate to change parts hoping its the problem.

There are couple of different ways the belt is configured on different year 496HOs. Some use the altrernator as a tensioner. Some use other methods. Make sure you look into the right setup to find your problem.

I'm going to pull it out Sun. night and tear it apart mon. am. Hopefully I will be able to tell what was squealing and get parts in time for the next weekend. I have the sea pump just trying to solve some other problems while its apart. Maybe its the sea pump squealing all this time, that would be nice. Hope they have a belt diagram. JC
