Default Engine Hatch stops

Maybe someone can help me on this. My engine hatch will go up for about 3-4 seconds and stop. I have to take my hand off the switch wait another 3-4 seconds, hit the switch again and then it will continue to go up again. It repeats this until up to the top. This also happens on the way down. Any ideas?
Thanks
Anthony

the hatch ram may have built in breakers for overload protection...first thing i would do is check the wire connections for corrosion.....more then likely the wires are probably butt-spliced together and have no heat shrink on them and they got moisture inside the connection and is corroding now....when you hit the switch it creats an overdraw of power cause the ram is not getting full power from the existing wire connection and tripping the breakers....
