Default Myco Trailer Break Problems

I Have A Myco Trailer It's A 12000# ,the Disc Breaks Keep Locking Up If I Stop Thay Will Not Release Like Thay Should. If I Drive It Like That For 15 Miles Smoke Is Comming Off Them.it Has Kodiac 250 Calipers Any Idea?

The problem is either the acuator not releasing when you take off or the pistons in the calipers sticking....easy fix either way. Check the actuator first.

A 12K trailer really should have electric over hydraulic. it's much smoother, more linear braking and WAY safer. If you lose truck brakes, the trailer can still stop you. If you're having actuator trouble, this is the perfect time to switch.

had same problem here, rebuilt 250's,that was not the problem, had an old Ausco e/h actuator, replaced with a new system. all better now.

Had the same problem.....Greased the actuator, no problem for a while.
Then on the way home from Key West some studs broke off a wheel & when we stopped for lunch I noticed the wheel was gone. I tried to tighten the others & snapped two studs off.
I think from when the brakes locked up before it heated up the studs & took the temper out of them...Replaced all studs.

My buddy just had similar problems on this '05 Myco....Actuator was bad....Myco paid for the Actuator to be replaced. Trailer guy out her on the west coast says the actuator that Myco is using is not the best out there....

is this actuator the same thing when you hit the brakes you dont get a smooth linear braking but more of a jerking motion when trying to stop..or is what I have something different. Thanks Jeff
