Default Outboard Alternator?

Does any one know a website for cross referencing a Nippondenso part number to something I might be able to afford, My 1996 250HP 3.0litre outboards use a belt drive alternator(I believe it is the same one used on the newer 2.5's also) Mercury part number 821663A 1
Mercurys price is $495.10
Seems steep to me any one have any ideas?
Thanks,
Caleb

P.S. posting in O/B and regular tech for greater coverage.
