Question Can you ski behind a 25' range cat?

One of my best friends wants to buy a fast boat He also wants to water ski behind it. He likes the 25 or 26 daytona cat's. Does anyone who owns one ski behind it. I have a 33' Daytona and have no problems skiing behind it

my first question would have been, has anyone skiied behind a cat, but if you have skiied behind a 33 footer, a 25 should be better. But, ultimately it depends on what he defines as skiing. If he is a mastercraft kind of dude, he probably wont ski behind this boat for very long.

Talking ski - cat?

Some people can ski behind anything. As a former ski race driver and former owner of many ski race boats, and some catamarans, you will find that pulling someone up to 30 or 40 mph will be OK behind the cat, but not much wake to work with. If you find a skier who want to get up there a little, you'll find that your wake goes away but the rooster tail comes up. You can't pull a skier with a big rooster tail! I see you are from Arizona, and there are a lot of ski races on the river, at Havasu and at Lake Mead. Take a look sometime. The first race of the season is next week at Parker. Go take a look, you might see something really interesting.
There are ski boats and cats, you really should have one of each.
