Default Need help on the oil bypass valves

Hello Guys,
I have a brand new gen vi 502 and gm has two oil bypass valves in the engine one on the filter pad and the other in the center in side where the filter adaptor or oil remote filter and cooler housing would bolt up to the block do I run them both or remove them and block just the one on the filter pad on the block?
